Challenge

This building had a heritage overlay, meaning no changes to the façade were permitted.

A family law firm was moving into the space, and required a new fit-out for the space. The existing floors and walls had been weathered by time, and required extensive work.

With a unique, and sometimes challenging interior layout, it was important that the new fit-out utilised the existing space as well as possible.

Solution

We worked closely with the client and Architect and Heritage Victoria to achieve the best outcome possible while retaining the original façade.

The preparation works to ensure plumb and level surfaces was undertaken by our team of carpenters. With respect for the heritage overlay, timber, glass, stone and other practical finishes were incorporated into the fit-out.

A covid safe plan was created and merged into a site management and OHS plan.
