Greek Church Coburg

Location
23 Victoria Street

Coburg VIC 3058

Challenge

The church and community hall was to remain partially in operation during the project. Victoria street is a ‘No Through Road’ abutting the railway station, pedestrian and public traffic required a large amount of attention. Working at heights is internal and externally to access existing surfaces. Protection of existing surfaces that are to remain.

Solution

Reliance developed a traffic management and project management plan to allow access by church users to not only the church but also the community hall. Inside the main building floors and the alter are being protected to allow the use of access equipment so works could be completed on the 9m high ceilings. Externally extensive scaffold is being erected to allow access at height for framing, roofing, stonework and finishing trades. Travel towers are to be positioned to carry out works to the dome and bell towers
