Challenge

This project involved pushing a lower external outwards, aligning with the façade above.

Work had to be isolated from the adjacent swimming pool, in order to allow for the facility’s climate control to remain unaffected.

Existing windows and external cladding linings needed to be saved and reused.

Solution

The works area was isolated by installing a temporary barrier wall that sealed the pool area from the outside wall, allowing the internal climate to be maintained as normal whilst the wall was demolished and rebuilt.

Demolition of the external wall was completed panel by panel to avoid damage of the existing cladding and windows to allow them to be reused, thus reducing project costs.
