Challenge

The soccer pitch at Carwatha College was completed in collaboration with Melbourne-based turf company TigerTurf. To overcome extremely poor soils, the subgrade was lime and cement stabilised in two layers totalling 700mm depth.

Solution

This project also incorporates TigerTurf’s patented Ecocept performance base, diverting approximately 8 million plastic bags and 44 tonnes of recycled car tyres from landfill – a huge environmental win!
