Challenge

Key challenges of working on any education project are often organisational, ensuring the safety of and minimal disruption to students, staff, parents and the wider community while we undertake construction.

This particular site was positioned on the original basketball court at the front of the school, which meant we had to restrict access to the main entrance. The build was a standalone structure that had services that interacted with existing buildings.

Solution

Reliance developed a site management plan with the assistance of the school. The plan showed construction fencing and paths of travel for all users. The build itself was well documented and built with conventional construction methods including extensive in-ground services and steel portal framing, covered in materials that created a real feature.

Reliance’s experience in this type of structure allowed us to provide a cost-effective budget and an efficient construction period.
