Challenge

This main building was a major classroom block and the hub for classroom learning. Reliance was required to remove internal load bearing walls, along with all linings, windows and doors in preparation for extensive refurbishment. The structure had to be re-supported and the roof re-pitched to fall in the opposite direction.

Solution

Site fencing and hoardings were put in place to ensure safety of school users and to provide security after hours. The Reliance team prepared a site management plan including egress and access, site deliveries and the day-to-day operation of the construction site.

A structural engineer attended the site to provide information on the existing columns and their supports. Once the structure was strengthened and signed off, the rest of the build was a simple fit-out for Reliance and our valued contractors.
