Challenge

This exciting project was the culmination of years of planning for the School and design team. The main focus was to create outdoor learning areas around a new sports precinct which included a sand running track, synthetic sports oval and multi-use courts.

Our biggest issue on this project was integrating our works with the council stormwater asset, we had limited depths to work with but the end outcome saw rain gardens created to hold stormwater on site and slowly drain away which did create beautiful sub-climate areas that the school are using for external learning spaces.

Solution

Reliance completed this sports oval, basketball court, play spaces, landscape and granitic sand running track project with the VSBA after winning an open tender. The site was easily accessed from the street and separated from the school grounds, so there were no issues with traffic around pick up and drop off times.

The play equipment is set up for different year level students and the running tracks are used every morning by every student prior to the classroom activities commencing.
