Challenge

This main building was a major classroom block and the hub for classroom learning. Reliance is required to remove internal load bearing walls along with all linings, windows and doors in preparation for extensive refurbishment. Covid has reduced the number of students attending school and the neighbouring sports ground.

Solution

Site fencing and hoardings have been put in place to ensure safety of school users and to provide security after hours. The Reliance team has prepared a site management plan including egress and access, site deliveries and the day to day operation of the construction site. A structural engineer has been requested to attend site to provide information on the existing columns and their supports. Existing conditions are being accessed now that demolition has been completed.
